How Could Climate Change Impact on Home and School?

How Could Climate Change Impact On Home and School?
If you're concerned about the quality of life, you will want to do what you can to reduce the impact of climate change which can affect your health, the economy and our environment. Every time you turn on a light, turn on the car, start up the computer, or do anything that uses energy you are responsible for producing greenhouse gases. But if you're part of the problem, you can also be part of the solution. At home, on the road and at work, there are simple things that all Canadians can do to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and save energy and money in the process!Getting started is easier than you think. It's as simple as making a personal commitment to use energy and resources more efficiently in your daily life to reduce your emissions.

Climate Change

Intro On Climate Change

Climate Change includes patterns of temperature, precipitation, humidity, wind and seasons. "Climate change" affects more than just a change in the weather, it refers to seasonal changes over a long period of time. These climate patterns play a fundamental role in shaping natural ecosystems, and the human economies and cultures that depend on them. All across the world and in our state, people are taking action because climate change has serious impacts, locally and globally. Climate change is a significant and lasting change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns over periods ranging from decades to millions of years.http://www.ecy.wa.gov/climatechange/whatis.htm

Climate Change within the home, school or workplace

  • Change 5 lights
Change a light, and you help change the world. Replace the conventional bulbs in your 5 most frequently used light fixtures with bulbs that have the ENERGY STAR and you will help the environment while saving money on energy bills. If every household in the U.S. took this one simple action we would prevent greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions from nearly 10 million cars.

  • To Seal and Insulate with ENERGY STAR:
    • Seal air leaks throughout the home to stop drafts,
    • Add insulation to block heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer,
    • Choose ENERGY STAR qualified windows when replacing windows
    Use water efficiently
    • Saving water around the home is simple. Municipal water systems require a lot of energy to purify and distribute water to households, and saving water, especially hot water, can lower greenhouse gas emissions. Look for products with EPA's Water Sense label; these products save water and perform as well or better than their less efficient counterparts.

    1) Intro to the Problem of Climate Change
Climate Change and global warming refers to an increase of the globes temerature.Human actions and natural events are belived to increase the temperature to more than average. Carbon Dioxide(Co2) is the primary reason to the temerature increase. There would be an increase in sea level, Humidity, and Temperature overland. There will also be an decrease in Glaciers, Snow cover, and sea ice. The green house effect has a huge effect on climate change. The earth gets more heat from the sun that changes temperature and Weather. Some of the earths surface radiates energy back into space. This all rises the temperature in the earth and the gases traps energy. If these green house gases wouldnt exist, the earths temperature would be much more cooler.
